Uploading recordings to the web

Top  Previous  Next

Method 1 - simplest:

1 Convert the recording to GIF format.

2 Using your web page editing software, insert the GIF file into the page.

After being fully downloaded, the recording will play inside the web page with no player required.

Method 2 - better for large recordings:

1 Convert the recording to WMV format.

2 Upload the WMV file to your website server.

3 Place a link to the file on your web page.

After being fully downloaded, the recording will play in your visitor's default media player.

Method 3 - simple steaming video:

1 Convert the recording to WMV format.

2 Upload the WMV file to a video sharing service, such as YouTube.

3 Place a link to the file on your web page.

The recording is "streamed" from the video sharing service, meaning it will start playing quickly, without needing to be fully downloaded.

Method 4 - full control streaming:

Typically you'd pay a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to do this for you. They manage all the formats, speeds and  requirements to make your video playable on all phones, tablets and PCs worldwide.
