The free way to edit your video recordings is to convert them to WMV files then open them in Windows Movie Maker, which comes with Windows.

 

Windows 7, 8 and 10 :

Download Windows Movie Maker from Microsoft. It's part of the Windows Essential Software Suite and it's free:

Windows Vista and before:

On the Windows taskbar, click Start / All Programs / Accessories / Windows Movie Maker.

To edit recordings in other third-party editors, convert the recordings to AVI format using True color, no compression.
