| • | Check that your speakers are on, have power, are not-muted, plugged in to the computer's speaker jack and the volume knob is turned up. |
| • | In the Windows taskbar corner area, right-click the speaker icon then click Open Volume Mixer. Check that the Speakers volume is up and not muted. |

| • | If you're lucky enough to have a speaker / headset switch, check its setting. |
| • | If the computer output is connected to a TV or similar device, temporarily restore the computer's audio output to its attached speakers during recording, otherwise the StereoMix channel may go silent. |
1 On the Windows taskbar, click Start / Control Panel.
2 On the Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound.
3 In the Sound section, click Manage audio devices.
4 On the Sound window, click the Playback tab.
5 Select Speakers.
| • | Some users report that unplugging their USB microphone during recording gets StereoMix to work. It seems some audio cards handle one input or the other, but not both. |
| • | Customer Tamir P. reports that some computers have a Listen to this device setting that must be set to Realtek Digital Output during recording. |

5 Click the StereoMix channel, if available. If not, forget this tip.
6 Click the Properties button.
7 Click the Listen tab, if available. If not, forget this tip.
8 For Listen to this device, select Realtek Digital Output
